Glen A. Wilson Wildcats Baseball

As the Wilson High School Head Baseball Coach, I am honored to say that I have dedicated the last 6 years to building this program into one in which the students can be proud to be part of. Not only do we commit ourselves on the baseball field, but we focus on academic achievement as well. We work as a team to attain success on the field and in the classroom. We teach the players to be responsible, reliable and dependable.

As a high school player myself, I played for La Puente HS. After my Senior year, at the age of 17, I was an 8th round draft pick for the Minnesota Twins, as a pitcher. I played professional baseball for 7 years and that experience was one of my greatest achievements as a young man. After that season in my life, I became a Hacienda La Puente Unified Employee. I have worked at Wilson High School for the last 20 years and have also coached baseball, at different levels and capacities. My experiences allow me to better prepare the players to the competitive nature of the sport. I am dedicated to the well-rounded growth of all of the players that participate in our Wildcat Baseball family. I welcome all students to participate in our program.

Thank you,

Ray Velasquez

Clearance Procedure

Online Clearance Packet

Dear Parents,

Each athlete needs to complete a series of steps to make sure they are eligible to compete at Glen A. Wilson High School. We now have a convenient and efficient process to clear your athlete online.  This will save you time and electronically store your information to be used yearly for your athlete and for multiple sports. It is very important that you have completed the school's online clearance process at prior to your first day of athletic participation.  Every athlete needs to have a current Physical examination before they can train or compete with the team. This examination will need to be renewed each year to retain a current status and eligibility.

In addition to our Clearance process, each athlete needs to continue in good academic standing in order to remain eligible. Basically each student needs to maintain a 2.0 GPA and pass four classes. We are committed to helping your student reach their full academic potential during the competitive season and throughout the entire school year.
