The following is required for acceptance into Advanced Drama:

-Previous participation in Introduction to Drama with a passing grade.*

-Previous participation in Intermediate Drama with a passing grade.*

-Audition Monologue/ Application during Open Auditions time in Spring during their year of Intermediate Drama.

-Acknowledgement and signature on Catstyles Theatre Contract

-Participation in all required productions as outlined on Class Syllabus.

 

*As and Bs required to be eligible for CoARTS recognition.

Advanced Theatre

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Advanced Theatre is the third level Capstone class for the Acting and Stagecraft pathway. It is a mixture of both Performing and Production students, working together to prepare and produce large-scale productions, including Drama Night Live, Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, Improv Night, Senior Showcase, winter production and more.

Students continuing building on the skills and attributes they have learned in Introduction to Drama and Intermediate Drama, focusing on more autonomous work individually and in groups. Students will spend more time acting as designer and director of their own productions, including implementation of their various skills, knowledge and leadership while gaining more in all areas.
