Introduction to Drama


Introduction to Theatre is a one-year survey class that covers various aspects of the theatre including, but not limited to, costume design, make-up, lighting design, sound design, set design, prop construction, set construction, stage management, the basics of acting, performing in large groups, duos and monologues, characterization, improvisation, world theatre traditions, production planning, William Shakespeare, writing and more. This class covers elements of both Stagecraft and Acting CTE pathways. After this course, students may continue on to Intermediate Drama where they will choose their interested pathway. Students participate in a live production in April. Attendance is critical. 

No requirements needed. Class is open to all students through their school counselor.

Class participation with a passing grade  and monologue audition/application is required to move onto Intermediate Drama.
