My name is Chanbi and I have been in Science Olympiad since 8th grade. My favorite subject is chemistry because I love calculating the math work and doing labs that needs precision. Learning about chemistry and doing build events in Science Olympiad has led me to be interested in chemical engineering. I’m honored to serve as the team's captain.

Hi, my name is Katie Tao and this will be my third year in Science Olympiad. Having the opportunity to learn more about nearly any subject in science is exciting to me, especially when we get to compete with what we learn. I look forward to working with everyone as vice-captain this year!

Secretary 

   Truman Ma, 11th

Hi, my name is Truman Ma. I am the secretary of the Glen A. Wilson Science Olympiad team. I am currently a junior, and I have been with the team since my freshman year. I specialize in chemistry events, but I enjoy various types of sciences. I am excited to serve this hardworking team during the Science Olympiad season.

Treasurer

    Elizabeth Leung, 10th 

Hi, my name is Elizabeth. I am the treasurer for the Glen A. Wilson SciOly Team, as well as a sophomore. I have been involved with SciOly since 4th grade. I like chemistry, because it gives me a chance to experiment with different combinations of things. I am thrilled to be working with my team this year!

Mr. Han is part of the Science Department and is currently teaching the biomedical science classes. He coaches Science Olympiad, Robotics, and HOSA at Wilson.

Chap1Hello, everyone. My name is Judy Chap and I am a first generation graduate. I've been teaching for 4 years. I've taught general science at middle school for 3 years and just wrapped up my 1st year of Biology in high school. I've coached Science Olympiad at the middle school level for 2 years and 1 year at the high school level. I'm so excited to be part of a competitive team that is committed and dedicated to learning about STEM related topics and I hope you are too!

Welcome to Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is for students interested in STEM, teamwork, and competitive events. In the last 4 years, the team has made tremendous strides in becoming a competitive team.

The 2016-2017 Team placed 3rd in the Los Angeles Regional Competition and 12th in State Championship at Caltech.

The 2017-2018 Team placed 2nd in the Los Angeles Regional Competition and 4th in the State Championship at Caltech.

The 2018-2019 Team placed 2nd in the Los Angeles Regional Competition and 5th in the State Championships at Caltech

The 2019-2020 Team placed 1st in the Los Angeles Regional Competition. State Championships were cancelled due to Covid-19.

Our Mission

Science Olympiad is a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 science education, increasing student interest in science, creating a technologically literate workforce and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by both students and teachers. These goals are achieved by participating in Science Olympiad tournaments, incorporating Science Olympiad into classroom curriculum and attending professional development workshops.
